This is also the blooming period when the valley is filled with greenery and vibrant flowers, which further add to the scenic beauty. The valley receives very scanty rainfall during its monsoon. The duration between November to April is when the valley is most prone to snowfall and the temperatures go well below 0 to -10 degrees . Transportation is largely affected during this period and the valley is largely blocked from the rest of the country as there is no other way of entering it. During these spells of winter, the locals have to go through great hardships and survive on stocks preserved during the summer.
